First day of school! :)

Dear Jonah,

Monday was your first day of school sweet boy and I was so nervous for you. Would you cry, would you miss me, would you have fun and make new friends? You are such a shy child (at first that is, once you get to know someone you talk their EAR off haha! you get that from me I suppose). The night before you helped me get your school supplies ready and your backpack all prepared. Everything was set by the door and ready to go. We went to bed early and at 6:30 the next morning you were ready to go. You were so excited about school! You couldn't eat your breakfast fast enough or get dressed soon enough. I took tons of pictures and usually you get so impatient with me taking pictures. "That's enough mom, I'm tired of taking pictures!" But that morning was different. You wanted me to capture every moment. "Take a picture of me from the back mom, now from the side, now from the front!" You were so cute...

We got you ready and after dropping your sister off at daycare we took you in. This is were I really got nervous. I think I was more nervous then you were. But you surprised your dad and I you went right in and hugged the teacher and were ready to see us off. You blew us a kiss and turned the other way ready for the day. It seemed like my heart was in my throat. But I didn't cry. Most moms do cry I suppose, but I was too happy. How as a mother can you cry for your child when he is so excited and ready for school? Now had you cried and screamed it would have been a different story, but I was too elated to cry. Such a big boy now, where have the first four years gone?

When we picked you up you were so happy. You told us about the "big boy playground" and about the great hamburgers you had for lunch. You said you liked your new teacher. I asked you if you wanted to go back to the daycare and you said, "No mom, I like my new school I don't ever want to go back to the other one." :) Good for you!
